What piqued your interest in ‘chalk drawing’? How many years ago?
My chalk drawing hobby started during the pandemic. We were spending more time at home obviously, and we were looking for activities for our two boys. What started with simple pictures of Sesame Street character faces, quickly turned into more complex characters, more definition/shading techniques, and full scenes with backgrounds and dimension. The hobby has turned into a great outlet for me—I work in front of a computer all day, so it is nice to come home and spend some time getting fresh air, being creative, and sharing my art with friends and neighbors who walk past our house.
Do you have other hobbies or interests?
Woodworking – beanbag sets, decorative wall art, etc.
Soar on the Shore - This will be his first time participating in and attending the Soar on the Shore Kite Festival. The timing was never right for him and his family to attend the festival. Ross stated that his parents attend the yearly event and share their photos with him. He is super excited to be at the festival this year! Join us Saturday August 17th from 11-4pm on the shore of Crescent Beach, 1025 Lake Street, Algoma for Soar on the Shore 2024!
